Dear all,
Quick updateIt has been a while since my last public post here at the forum. Some of you have heard that I moved to an African LDC (Uganda) for a couple of months for my studies, others are now reading about this trip here for the first time

. In summary: it has been a very interesting trip. Learned a lot about a true African culture and simultaneously, learned a lot about myself as well. The result is a outstanding graded paper on entrepreneurial behavior in developing economies, which - if you're really interested - can be
ordered from here. And now that I'm all done, I'll be on the look-out for a fulltime job. And in the mean time work on part time projects and picking up CCMS where I left off.
CCMS projectThere were a few things I still wanted to do with CCMS for a next release. This included
an installer,
user management,
fixing the menu management and
improving the file editing experience. But as always: once you get started, it is very hard to keep yourself to only a limited list of features. Because modules weren't all that nice either, and wouldn't it be better to have template editing options from within CCMS? Likewise I found myself eager to just be able to switch between editor windows. Up to now I had to close one window, before opening up the next.
So instead of thinking "I'm not going to do all of that", I figured "Let's do it all!"

. And the preliminary result is on
the CCMS beta. Not all functionalities (especially user permissions) are fully functional, but all of the features I wanted to adopt, are at least positioned within the system. You can by the way also
get the source, install it on your own server and offer me the much needed feedback.
Now I'm asking you for two things:
- What do you think of the beta? Is it working and is it easy, efficient and effective?
- CCMS has become extensive. Do you feel the name CompactCMS is still appropriate? And overall: what strategy to follow on positioning this - in my opinion - much improved (e.g. accessibility) CMS?
Thanks for reading, hopefully your vision on the project can help me develop it. And who knows: maybe I can make CCMS consultancy (or?) my full time job

...
All the best!
Xander.
