Some spammer hit the Wiki.
« on: October 16, 2009, 11:18:30 AM »
Hi Xander,

It seems some lousy Russian spammer hit your Wiki.

Just to let you know, I took the liberty to remove his spam links and tried to restore the Wiki in it's former state. Sadly I have no permission to recreate some missing pages and I have no idea what content has been removed from the spammed and/or deleted pages.

I'm afraid you will have to look into that yourself. Sorry about that.  :(

Cheers,

Leo

Hi Leo,

I've noticed it. Thanks so much for helping out on removing the spam contents! I'm still in my midterms and haven't got the time to do anything on either the project or website. I'm planning to pick things up next week, but I realize that perhaps I should look for a better way to host my community "services". A forum and Wiki are important, but my current ones don't integrate well (e.g. two different usernames). I'll look into possible hosted solutions (example: Google Code) or a better software solution that I can easily host myself.

In the meantime one exam to go, so hopefully nobody will be disturbed too much by the missing content. Next week I'll fix things and will try to clean things up and get the project up and running again.

Again thanks for your efforts!

Cheers,
Xander.
Don't ever hold back your suggestions. Help me either to improve CompactCMS or spread the word about it on sites such as Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon, etc :). Thanks!
